J. MARK MOORE
Mr. Moore has spent his career litigating class actions and other complex matters. He joined Spiro Moss in March 2006, after spending most of his career as an associate, and then a partner, at a Los Angeles-based, national law firm where he defended major insurance companies in class actions and unfair business practice cases involving insurance claims practices, wage and hour claims and securities claims in California and other states. Mr. Moore greatly prefers his present role as an advocate for employees and consumers. His practice consists of handling class actions on behalf of employees seeking unpaid wages, as well as cases involving violations of consumer protection statutes, illegal lending practices, Fair Credit Reporting Act violations, and other consumer claims. He is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including appellate practice, and has been appointed lead counsel in numerous certified class actions in state and federal court, including one involving more than two million consumers.
Mr. Moore has been appointed lead or co-lead counsel in numerous class actions in state and federal court, many of which have resulted in class action settlements. He has litigated class actions against major corporations such as Microsoft, Countrywide Bank, Washington Mutual, Cingular, BCI Coca-Cola, General Motors, Ross Stores, and Ceradyne, Inc. Mr. Moore has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and other publications regarding class action matters.
Mr. Moore received his B.A. in Business Economics, with honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1992, and his J.D. in 1995 from the UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program Board. He is licensed to practice in California and admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of California. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, traveling to exotic places, attending Clippers games and debating politics.
