Baker v. Valley Presbyterian Hospital

Case Description: A potential class action has been filed against Valley Presbyterian Hospital. The lawsuit alleges: (1) failure to pay premium wages for missed meal breaks; (2) failure to pay premium wages for missed rest breaks; (3) failure to pay overtime wages; (4) failure to pay all wages owed upon termination; (5) improper wage statements; and (6) unfair competition (violation of the California Business & Professions Code § 17200 et seq.) on behalf of current and former nonexempt registered nurses employed by Valley Presbyterian Hospital in California since March 12, 2005.
Current Status: The Court granted final approval to a class action settlement.
